Solar energy, which is one of the renewable energy sources, stands out with the advantages it provides in terms of ease of installation, maintenance and repair of its systems and its cost in a short time.
İbrahim Şahintaş, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, which started the installation of panels to meet the energy needs of the light rail system stations belonging to the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that the importance of renewable energy has increased in recent years around the world.
Stating that they aim to complete the installation of panels on the roofs of 30 stations in the city in 3-4 months, Şahintaş said, "The electricity used in the station will be met from the panels on the roof, and our people will be able to see this while traveling. With these panels, approximately 2 million 500 thousand kilowatt-hours of energy will be produced annually. It's a million pounds." used the phrases.
Şahintaş emphasized that wherever electricity is consumed, solar power plants can be installed on the roofs of buildings, be they large or small, and energy can be converted into savings. Expressing that users can save very serious numbers, Şahintaş continued as follows:
"All big companies in Turkey now generate their own energy from the sun. At the moment, this has become widespread in Bursa as well, we are insufficient to meet the demands. There are very serious demands, measurements are taken on more than 20 roofs a day, feasibility studies are being carried out. Hopefully, solar energy figures in Turkey will increase from 6 thousand 200 megawatt-hours to 20 thousand-30 thousand in the near future. I hope the biggest investments will be made in the field of solar energy in 5-10 years. I think this will pave the way for our country in all areas. "With its return, the biggest source will be energy. Since it is a source that is superior to other energy sources and has a very wide area, the sun is free and there is no shortage of raw materials. Therefore, solar energy systems will be the most demanded energy production system in our country and the world in the coming period."
Şahintaş explained that solar energy is the most easily repaired and maintained system. Stating that the panels have a working life of 25 years with an efficiency of more than 80 percent, Şahintaş said, "We only do superficial cleaning when dusty, muddy, loosening of screws, heating controls. These are systems that can be monitored remotely, even from a mobile phone. Panel cleaning can be done with a brush and pure water. It is very cheap and easy to maintain. We train our customers on this. They can do it themselves, if they want, we can go and do it." he said.
İbrahim Şahintaş added that since they are monitored remotely by both themselves and the users via mobile phones and computers, they can intervene and fix the problem immediately in case of a malfunction in the panels or a disconnection.
